While the region has made progress in renewable energy and innovation, recent developments have created uncertainty around its path toward a sustainable energy future. The US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement and JETP funding adds to this complexity, raising questions about global climate leadership, equity, and the flow of green finance and technology.
However, the US withdrawal could also galvanise Asian countries to take a more proactive role in the global energy transition.
